Vall de Llíber is a hilly area that is crossed by the provincial CV-748 road between Llíber and Gata de Gorgos. The riverbed of the Rio Jalón / Gorgos runs more or less parallel to this road. It is an area that is dominated by vineyards and olive groves and on both sides beautiful hills. There are wooded areas, mainly with pine trees and it is peaceful location. This walk describes a lovely forest path that leads alongside impressive rock cliffs. The variety of vegetation and different habitats is the reason of the multitude of bird species in this area.
To get to this birding site Spain, from Refugio Marnes one goes down to the town of Benissa taking the direction to Senija followed by the road to Llíber. Before this village is reached a sign with ‘Gata de Gorgos CV-748’ shows the correct route. Through this link you can see a list of observations from a small part of the Vall de Llíber area.
