Arriving at "Refugio Marnes" is like stepping back in time. The Finca comprises three diverse accomodation styles: Los Establos Bed & Breakfast, La Jaima and La Ruina.

Simple pleasures: sun, peace, tranquillity, nature with the chance to sample a taste of this region's ancient farming history. "Refugio Marnes" consists of a very old finca or farmhouse, set in a valley surrounded by 25 hectares of ancient agricultural land.

The terracing here is from the Phoenician era, so about 700 BC. The finca is named after the area of "Marnes" to which it belongs, and it lies at about 500 metres altitude in a small mountainous area in the interior of the Costa Blanca about 20 minutes drive from the coast.

On the property you will find cultivated carob, olive and almond trees and many interesting plants that are common for this area. The house is situated at the end of a country lane approximately 1 Kilometre from the main road.  On the land there are three houses, the main house where the owners live with Los Establos Bed & Breakfast accomodation, the country house La Ruina and a huge Bedouin Tent La Jaima.

Rural tourism and agriculture are the principle sources of income in this beautiful place, and environmental friendliness leads the way. For example, electricity is provided by solar energy and we use other renewable resources wherever we possibly can.

The stunning swimming pool blends harmoniously into the terraced structure of the land.
We endeavour to conserve water, which is very scarce here, so in winter, after being filtered, the swimming pool water is suitable for recycling.
